Hello fellow science fiction fans – I am Purple John along with the professional folks at Anchors Design here to bring you Purple Earth Comics very first bulletin for March/April 2016. It is definitely a very big year for comic book related movies, BUT it is also a big year for super fun comic books too!
DC Comics – DC is ready to wrap up their very popular New 52 on issues #52 of many of their biggest books to prepare you for REBIRTH. This represents a momentous opportunity to start reading or jump back aboard any of their wide range of characters and great titles. The first Saturday in May is always Free Comic Book Day across the Nation (see next bulletin) and DC will launch their superhero rebirth with a totally free comic! Rebirth kicks into high gear in June with single one shot issues showing the character and his/her transition into each new story arc and creative team. These issues lead into each new #1 first issue released in July. That is far from all the company is offering though. Also, be on the look out for Harley Quinn and Her Gang of Harleys, the deep and wild story telling of the Vertigo titles and the launch of new Hanna Barbara books by big industry talent.
Marvel Comics – A few months ago, Marvel relaunched all of their regular monthly book titles with new first issues as a response/aftermath to the end of their huge Secret Wars mini series event. So, it is still a great time to jump aboard your favorite characters books as they are not far into their runs. (We carry an extensive array of collected editions/trade paperbacks as well) Each month as it passes, Marvel continues to release terrific brand new books daring you to take the ride. These include: Punisher, Moon Knight, Power Man and Iron Fist, International Iron Man, Hyperion, Spiderman/Deadpool, Gwenpool, and Black Panther (coming to a movie screen near you). All of these great exciting books invite you to try the awesome. Marvel is also preparing to release their next ultra big event in May with the #0 issue of Civil War 2 !! Pick up your Free Comic Book Day tie in issue (my shop gives them away for the entire month of May fyi) or many other choices.
Dark Horse Comics – has lots of wonderful books to engage your imagination too. Titles such as: Aliens, Predator, Buffy, Fight Club, Conan, Dragon Age and Harrow County. IDW Comics – releases so many lucious licensed properties, you are bound to like at least one of them. These include: Back to the Future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Files, Godzilla, Star Trek, My Little Pony, Transformers and G.I. Joe!
Image Comics – is simply killing it in the creative department.They offer fun mind altering books like: Saga, Southern Bastards, Outcast, Spawn, The Discipline, East of West, Monstress, Rat Queens, Snow Fall, Tokyo Ghost and of course the Walking Dead.
So much to see, so much to experience, so much to look at and read, so much to buy from Purple Earth !!!
